On November 15, 2023, Luyilu Resources, a company in the Democratic Republic of Congo under our group's control, completed the main structure of the N39 highway underpass tunnel. With this milestone, the temporary construction road was closed, and traffic on the national highway was restored. Luyilu Resources' General Manager Mr. Yin Xuanwen, Assistant General Manager Mr. Yang Conghui, along with key department and subcontractor representatives, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the reopening of N39.

Construction of the underpass tunnel and entry/exit ramps began in July 2023. The tunnel, which spans the N39 highway, is 25 meters long, 8 meters wide, and 6.5 meters high. Despite challenges in sourcing raw materials, the project was meticulously planned and executed to catch up with the construction timeline. With the main structure now complete, the tunnel is expected to open for traffic by mid-December 2023.

The underpass tunnel connects both sides of the national highway, linking the factory area with the new resource stockpile yard. This integration will allow the company to maximize the utilization of land on the opposite side of the highway, expand the factory's footprint, and reduce reliance on the N39 highway. It will also ensure stable tailings supply, shorten the distance to the KIK mining area, enable fully enclosed operations, lower transportation costs, improve logistics efficiency, and facilitate better management of the ore stockpile.
