On September 21, Ansheng Minerals, a subsidiary of a Congolese mining company, donated second-year scholarships to 10 outstanding university students from the Lusa community.
The donation ceremony was attended by Yang Boyu, Senior Manager of the Corporate Social Responsibility Office at Ansheng Minerals, Kalima Chkatula John, Manager of the CSR Department, and Lu Zihua, Head of the Comprehensive Department, as well as Rigobert Makonga Kombe, Chairman of the Lusa Community Development Committee, Masamba Ofesi Olivier, Secretary of Lusa Town, the 10 scholarship recipients, and community representatives.
In 2023, Ansheng Minerals launched a five-year university scholarship program aimed at supporting 10 academically excellent but financially disadvantaged students from the Milando and Luisha regions in completing their studies. The program covers tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses, effectively relieving the financial burden on the students' families and allowing them to focus on their studies and pursue their personal dreams.
During the donation ceremony, Yang Boyu reiterated the company's unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility. He emphasized that, alongside investing in business development, the company would continue to actively fulfill its social responsibilities and provide support for community education. He encouraged the recipients to give back to society after completing their studies and contribute to the development of their hometowns.
Rigobert Makonga Kombe, Chairman of the Community Development Committee, expressed heartfelt gratitude for Ansheng Minerals' charitable actions. Student representative Mwambu Kapalu Jonathan expressed deep appreciation for the valuable support and thanked Ansheng Minerals for ensuring the academic success of the 10 students through financial assistance. He pledged to continue striving for excellence in his studies and live up to the expectations of society.
In recent years, Ansheng Minerals has also initiated educational support projects, including repairing school buildings for the Luisha Church School and Lusa High School, donating educational supplies and teaching tools to Luisha High School, and collaborating with RECOPE to sponsor education for 100 children who had been out of school.
