Luyilu Resources Sulfuric Acid System Officially Commissioned

On December 26, 2022, Luyilu Resources' 100,000-ton-per-year sulfuric acid production system was officially commissioned. This milestone marks the full operation of Luyilu's copper, cobalt, and sulfuric acid systems, paving the way for increased production capacity and enhanced competitiveness.

Since equipment installation began on July 8, 2022, the team completed the project in just over five months despite challenges such as the rainy season. Key milestones included acid-resistant brick lining in September, refractory brick lining in October, and sulfur melting and system heating in December. On December 26, sulfur spraying began, and the system is now fully operational.

In 2022, Luyilu overcame logistics and staffing challenges to achieve significant milestones: the copper system trialed production in May and shipped its first batch of cathode copper in August; the cobalt precipitation workshop began producing high-quality cobalt hydroxide in September; and the sulfuric acid system was commissioned in December, completing the production loop.
